At the Cacao Workshop you will learn the traditional process of preparing ceremonial cacao from scratch with beans from the Izabal Agro Forest and ingredients that have been preserved up until today by the Maya. You will roast the beans over the Comal, grind the cacao on lava stones and prepare the ceremonial cacao that we all get to share around the sacred fire
Sacred Fire is a tradition and practice passed down through generations. The fire is born from ancestral offerings — natural incenses, tree resins, and sage — given to honour our grandmothers and grandfathers. In this ancient, sacred flame, there lies a portal through which we commune with our ancestors. They offer messages of strength to us, their sons and daughters.
